To ensure your request takes place, please read the following information:
Who can use the service? | This service is currently only available for domestic residents who have their own front door access on the ground floor. |
Items | Only small electrical items able to fit in a standard plastic carrier bag will be collected. |
Presentation | Items should be inside a plastic carrier bag, left at your front door. Please use this as an opportunity to fill the carrier bag with any broken and unwanted small electricals from your household including cables and old chargers. |
Preparation | Please remove any batteries before placing items inside the plastic bag. We cannot collect batteries as part of this free service. You can recycle batteries at many local supermarkets |
Time | Collections take place any time from 8am to 4pm. If possible, please put your items out on the day of collection before 8am or no earlier than the night before. We cannot give a specific time for collection. |
We don't take | TVs, mobile phones, lightbulbs or large electrical items. For large electrical items, please book a bulky waste collection instead. |
Unwanted but still working small electrical items | If you have unwanted electrical items that are safe and in good working order, why not get them re-used? You can check our list of charities who may be able to assist with recycling your electrical items. |
Collections | All collections take place on Mondays except for a Bank Holiday Monday, where the collection will be moved to a Tuesday. |

Important Information
Before submitting a request, please review the information provided. It outlines what services we do and do not offer, along with key considerations. By ticking the confirmation box, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these details. Requests that do not meet the stated criteria may not be processed.
Location Search
You can begin by entering part of an address or postcode. Matching results will appear in a table. If no results are found, you may restart the search. Certain request types allow you to use your device’s location—this feature is only available within the boundary of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Some requests also support location search by ID, such as smart litter bins or traffic signals. If the ID does not return a result, you can search by the nearest address or location and select it from the map.
